《中華德育故事》百喻篇-《多吃了六個餅》

There once was a man who was walkingdown a dusty path and was very tired and very hungry. He was out of breath an needed to rest and grab a snack. Then he heard someone yell , “ Oven cakes on sale! Freshly baked!” Then he spotted a little stand and a man waving a oven cake in the air. He suddenly regained his energy and zoomed right up to the stand and said, “ Oven cakes?! Uh Hey guy! Give me six of them!” Then in reply, the man placed a plate with six oven cakes on the table a said, “ Six oven cakes, up!”

The man grabbed one after another and shoved them in his mouth not even bothering to chew well and eat slowly. When he was done he realized there was no more and he was still hungry. The he said to the owner, “ Hey guy! One more oven cake!” “ One oven cake ,up!” the owner said as he place a plate with one oven cake on the table. The man took the cake from the plate, bit it in half ,and chewed slowly. Then he realized he was full. He thought , “ I ate six whole oven cakes and I was still hungry as ever. But When I bit the seventh oven cake in half and chewed it slowly, I was full!” Then he really said,” Why was I so stupid?! If I ordered only half of a oven cake I would be full and I could save my money!!!!! Why ?! Why was I so stupid!?”
