One calm morning, when the birds were chirping, and the sky was blue, and the sun was shining, casting its rays upon the earth below, two old people were relaxing, enjoying the sunlight with their cat. Chickens were eating and birds were tending to their young.

Inside the house, however, was the old couple’s son.

Mother and Father are old now. They don’t have the ability and energy to go anywhere they would like. Their life must be so boring. What am I supposed to do to make them happy? He pondered for a long while, and at last, had an idea that brightened his face.

He walked to the closet and opened the doors. He saw many clothes, and put some on. He then drew on his own face to make himself look like a clown. When he looked into the mirror he laughed. He mussed up his hair and laughed even harder.

“Right, just like this.” he said, chuckling all the while. He grabbed a toy and walked outside. “Mother! Father!” he announced.

His father looked at him and his eyes went wide with shock. As did his mother’s. Even the cat was staring, even the chickens stopped eating to stare. The birds didn’t know how to close their beaks.

“Hey.. old man. Am I dreaming?” the old woman asked. “Why is there a creepy guy standing in front of us?”
“I think I’m dreaming too..” the old man replied. “I see him!”
“That’s weird. How come, in the middle of the day, two people are dreaming the same thing?”
“Right.. What did the guy say earlier?”
“I think he called mom and dad..”
“Oh! Then where are his parents?”
“I don’t know.. There aren’t people here.”
“Dad, mom! It’s me!”
“What?! It’s our son?” they asked in unison. And they both laughed very, very hard.
“Dad, mom! Look at me, aren’t I pretty?”
He did some crazy moves and his parents laughed until they had tears in their eyes.

Later in the day, his parents were lounging inside and he brought water for them.
“Mom, Dad. Drink some water.”
“Our son is so good to us.” the mom said.
“Of course! He’s our son!” the dad said.
At that, they both laughed a merry laugh.
