棄官尋母所講述的就是放棄了自己的官職，放棄自己的一切，也要尋找母親。其實這也是二十四孝故事裡面的，講述的也是孝道。為人子女一定要注重孝道，在走進社會之後也要講道德。通過小家的生活，能夠看出一個人的品質，同時也能夠看出一個國家的興衰。小家的和睦能夠讓一個國家變得更為昌盛，這也是治國之本。
One day, two boys were outside playing ball. Suddenly, a crash sounded inside.
” Hm. Looks like First Mother crashed the funiture again.” said the older boy.
” Why would First Mother do that?” asked the youngest.
” Because First Mother told Second Mother to do chores, but Second Mother didn’t do it good.”
” But isn’t Second Mother my mother?” asked the youngest. ” Why did First Mother tell Second Mother to do it? Why can’t the maids do it?”
” That’s because First Mother hates Second Mother. She never liked he so she has to owe her.” the eldest said.
” What does owe mean?”
” Owe means owe. Gosh. You have so much questions.” the eldest complained as he walked away.
‘What is owe?’ thought the youngest. He looked around for a moment and went off.
Back in the house, a mess of broken china and tea lay on the floor.
” I told you to pour me some tea! What are you trying to do?! Burn me to death?!” barked First Mother as Second Mother was quiet.
” I always thought that you were careless,” nagged the first mother.
Then, the youngest came in and the first mother’s face twisted.
” Mother,” he said to the second mother,” Father wants to see you. He told me to get you.”
She nodded.
As they went outside, the second mother asked,” Child, what did your Father want to talk about?”
” Well, Father didn’t want to see you.” he admitted.
His mother glared at him,” You lied! You’re so young and you learned how to lie already!”
” Mother, don’t be angry, I know I’m wrong! I just heard that First Mother is being mean to you. I just wanted to save you.”
” You.. she paused and sighed.
A few moments later, she came back to the first mother’s room with a tub full of water.
” Why are you so slow?!” came the shrill reply full of annoyance.
” I’m sorry, I..” she put the water down and went out side.
” Wait!” the first mother barked. ” Give it to me.”
She gave it to her, but only to end up all over her.
” What do you think you’re doing?! Forcing me to wash my face with this cold water!”
The Second Mother woke up on her bed .
” Mother, you’re awake, do you feel any better?”
“Why are you still awake? I’m fine.”
Outside the veranda, a maid was coming making her way to the second mother’s room
” Stop!” barked the first mother from behind.” Who is that for?!” she demanded.
The maid seemed nervous,” It’s for second madame from sir, first madame, because she is sick.”
” I forbid you to go! Put it in my room!”
” But-….yes madame..”
Outside the house, second mother was leaving, feeling very sorry for her child.
” Mother!” screamed the youngest as he bursted through the door. But his mother was already gone.
50 years later…..
In the king’s court, a man said,” Your Majesty, I want to resign from being your adviser.”
” What? But you were doing fine.”
” Yes, but when I was 7, I was seperated from my mother.It was 50 without seeing her. I want to look for her.”
” Well.. I can let my men help you, you don’t have to resign.”
“But Majesty, I sent many men for many years out to find her, but she is nowhere in sight. Please let me resign.”
” You, you give up your role as the adviser to find your mother? Fine.”
” Thank you Your Majesty!”
He wen tto talk to his wife and told her that he was never coming back until he found his mother.
He went everywhere he could and gathered as much as information as possible, wearing tattered clothes.
