One morning, a girl set off to get water. As she walked past two people, one woman said,” You have to go so far to get water! Poor girl. Here, you can get water from here.” She gestured to a well near her.
” I don’t like well water, I’ll go to the lake and get water there.”
“Hurry up and go, then.”
“Alright, I’ll see you later.” With that, the girl continued walking. When she was gone, the man said,” That old woman is so lucky! She has such a nice daughter.”
“Exactly, and she’s a girl too!”
“Of course, how come we’re not that lucky?”
” I say, husband, don’t we have good kids too?”
“Oh yes, of course!”
Back at home, an old lady said,” I say, you have such a nice daughter! I love all these dishes!”
” Yes, I do, these are all the dishes I like to eat!” replied the old woman.
The girl said,” Go ahead and try it, Mother.”
“Alright. Hm, it’s good! Come, let’s all try it.”
The next morning, the girl went outside to get water again, and this time, she saw a stream just right outside her house. She scooped some in her hand and drank.\
“Husband, husband! This water tastes exactly like the water from the stream! It’s Mother’s favorite water!”
Her husband tried some and cried,” Exactly, exactly! It is the water Mother likes! God gave us this!”
