德育的故事【大禹克儉】
夏禹、娶塗山氏。僅四日。不以私害公。即去治水。後啟生。呱呱而泣。禹三過其門而不入。在外八年。功成後。受舜禪為天子。菲飲食而致孝乎鬼神。惡衣服而緻美乎黻冕。卑宮室而盡力乎溝洫。孔子賢之。 孔子之稱禹。曰、吾無間然矣。以禹之功高天下。德垂萬世。尊為天子。富有四海。而猶菲飲食。惡衣服。卑宮室。民到於今稱之。世人曷不以禹為法。克勤於邦。克儉於家。不自滿假。則惟女賢。 【白話解釋】 唐堯皇帝的時候。遍地發了極大的洪水。百姓們不能夠安居。所以叫大禹去治水。這時候、大禹新娶了他的夫人塗山氏。才四天。他不肯為了私事。妨害公事。所以就拋棄了家室去治水了。後來他的兒子名叫啟的生下來了。小孩子呱呱地哭著。大禹仍舊努力做著公家的事。有三次經過自己家裡的門口。可是沒有一次走進去。這樣的在外面有八年。大水畢竟給他平治成功了。後來虞朝舜皇帝把天子的位置讓給大禹。所以就叫做夏禹王了。夏禹王的做人。對於自己喝的吃的。都是很菲薄。可是敬鬼神卻很盡著孝心。自己所穿的衣服很不好。可是對於祭服和禮帽。卻收拾得很美觀。自己所住的房屋很矮小。可是對於人民田間的水路。卻盡力的講究。因此孔夫子很稱美他的。 【大禹克儉】2
