10) 孔子聖賢之道- 善之難易

Translated

Confucianism- The good of difficulty and ease:
To be a kind person, we must wholeheartedly help others. Where there are rich and powerful people, a meritorious deed is easy. It is diffcult for poor people do charity . When it is difficult and they still can do it, this is considered commendable.

One day, as Zi Lu was listening to his teacher talk, he suddenly heard someone crying.
” Grrr. So annoying!!” Zi Lu yelled, and punched the wall open. Outside was an old man and a little girl.
” What are you doing?! Why are you crying outside and disrupting my class??!!” Zi lu yelled.
” Wow… what a bad temper..” his classmates muttered.
The old man and the little girl cried.
” You don’t know, we owe the wealthies money, and they demand that we give them the girl.” the old man said.
” Huh??!” Zi Lu said.
” poor child..” his classmates muttered.
” Wait! Here’s some money,” Zi Lu’s classmate said.
” Thank you!”the old man said, and left with the little girl.
Then, the classmate went up to the teacher and said that he needed to go to another country to do some work.
” Okay, be careful,” the teacher said.
The next day, as Zi Lu was getting the wall fixed, his teacher came up to him.
” Zi Lu. Do you know what’s your bad quality that you need to improve now?”
” Hmm. I’m too impaitient and violent, and I need to learn more.”
” Yes. Look at Yan Hui. He’s poor and can’t afford a cup.No one else can stand this life, but he can.”
” You’re right. I will learn from Yan Hui more.” Zi Lu said.
” Mmm. Now that you know what’s bothering you, you have to conceentrate on fixing it.”
” yes, teacher.”
Later that day, the teacher was again giving class, and then, there was people crying outside, once again.
Zi Lu couldn’t stand it, so he punched the wall open.. AGAIN.
When he saw the old man and little girl from yesterday, he yelled,
” What happened?! I thought you repayed your debt already!!!”
” You don’t know, the money was too less by one mei.” the old man said, crying.
” ONE MEI?! How could those people do that?! Well, I think…” he searched his pockets, but he didn’t have any money.
” I guess this is going to have to do it!!” he held out his fist.
” WAIIIT!!” Yan Hui called.” Here’s one mei! Looks like I used it today.”
” Hmm? Yan Hui! Where’d you get money? ” Zi Lu asked.
” Um, heheh.” Yan Hui scratched his head. ” I earned it. It took five years, and I didn’t want to spend it on anything, but I guess I spent it today!”
” Thank you!” the old man said.
” Wow. Yan Hui’s so poor, and he used his money to help other poor people. We should learn from him!” One of his classmates said. Everyone nodded in agreement.
